Paula Linda Kawiecki Camillo - 6/12/50-7/21/13
Today marks 8 years that my Mom lost her decade-long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
8 full years of learning how to navigate my life without her.
I wish I could say it has gotten easier.
I still go to dial her phone number to tell her everything, and nothing.
It is incredible how, even after this time, the emptiness is still so loud inside me.
In years past, I have honored my Mom by participating in walks such as AVON39 or Making Strides to raise money to help facilitate being a small part of finding a cure. I shift my focus the last few years by taking my love for photography and my mission to raise money to find a cure by choosing to donate photo sessions to families fighting cancer. I believe that LOVE will get you through anything. And nothing illuminates love than capturing it through my lens, witnessing how real it is.
Healing is a lifetime endeavor and journey. Photos can capture moments of that lifetime. Photos make time standstill. They are allowing you to go back to memory immediately.
There is no cost for the session.
The sessions can be booked any weekday or weekend in September.
I will give back five sessions to families.
I will travel to any destination on Long Island.
Every session scheduled will receive the edited images on a flash drive.
I will then showcase my favorite images from each session and display them on my website for others to find HOPE and BELIEVE that LOVE can pull you through.
I cannot believe it will be my fourth year donating photo sessions; it fills my bucket; it has put me introduced me to beautiful souls. I feel the need to give back to keep my Mom present in my everyday life and honor her memory. Capturing families who are the fighters, the cheerleaders and supporters are the ones carrying the HONEST HOPE. YOU are the fuel that helps family and friends BELIEVE we can all be a part of finding a cure so that no one has to suffer.
If you know of a family or friend interested in this type of photo session, please have them email me at kim@kimpacephotograpy.com or text me at 516-983-4630.
